8 March

WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN´S DAY?

Every year on 8 March, the International Women’s Day is celebrated to bring awareness to gender parity, highlighting the cultural, political, social and economic achievements that women have made throughout history. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the progress made and build momentum for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls and Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.

2019 THEME: THINK EQUAL, BUILD SMART, INNOVATE FOR CHANGE

This International Women's Day, join us as we celebrate a future in which innovation and technology create unprecedented opportunities for women and girls to play an active role in building more inclusive systems, efficient services and sustainable infrastructure to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs and gender equality.
